| If you ask Scott
Douglas, the voice of Monster Jam, hell tell you only one word is synonymous with
Jimmy Creten Horsepower. Quick holes shots and standing power wheelies are
commonplace with Bounty Hunters huge 555 cubic inch power plant. This wasnt
always the case however; Jimmy didnt jump right into the monster truck spotlight.
Back in the mid-80s Creten had a street truck that he had lifted and was always
making modifications too. The farming communities of northeast Kansas provided great
off-roading spots and soon Jimmy was competing in full-fledged mud-bogs on the weekends. In 1996 he decided to purchase his own monster
truck. Jimmy has an extensive mechanical
background. A robotics degree from Kansas
State University and years of experience as an engineer with Colgate-Palmolive allow Jimmy
to confidently have a hand in all aspects of his teams performance. Finding precise
chassis, motor and shock combinations have given Creten the competitive edge to make it to
the Final Four in every attempt during his 5 year tenure at the World Finals. Only former
7-time champion Tom Meents has more round wins on the unique Vegas track. In 2005 a sold out Sam Boyd Stadium watched as The Bounty Hunter
captured the World Freestyle Championship, after being runner-up the year before. The
Monster Jam season takes the 2xtreme Racing team to stadiums and cities all over the
country. Aside from clenching the Freestyle title in 2005 Jimmy also had event wins in
Houston, Tacoma, Jacksonville and a muddy San Francisco, Ca. In 2006 Jimmy grabbed race
wins in Portland, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Reno, Nevada. The team expanded to 3 race
trucks in 2007 and each driver landed a spot in the World Finals - Marking the first time
a team has been successfully qualified 3 trucks in the highly competitive field. Over the
past 8 years Jimmy Creten has earned the respect of fans and competitors. His attention to
detail and reputation of consistency has been recognized twice by the USHRA. In 2002 and
2006 the Checker Schucks Kragen sponsored team was awarded Team of the
Year. Jimmy hopes to one day add his name to the short list of drivers that have
been crowned both World Finals Racing and Freestyle Champions.
