Monster Jam World Finals X Results
Racing World Champion: Maximum Destruction
Freestyle World Champion: U.S. Air Force Afterburner

While 2nd place is only one notch away from championship gold, it is also
said that second place is just the first loser.  Such are the thoughts of a
driver who is not easily satisfied, and has been close more times than he
cares to remember.  At the 10th running of Monster Jam's biggest event
Jimmy Creten qualified his Bounty Hunter Ford in second place during the
popular Double Down festivities, and claimed another second place finish in
Freestyle.  "I sure wish we could just get this over with!" explained Creten
in regards to adding a racing championship to his mantle. "No matter
how we did here it's an honor to be a part of this weekend and these fans
are here to see a show and that's what they got".

Chicago & Cleveland
Posted  2/16/09

All three 2Xtreme Racing driver's posted impressive wins this past weekend against tough fields in Chicago and Cleveland.  Jimmy's winning streak was ended by the last person who beat him some 5 weeks and 8 events ago.  Joe Miller in Iron Outlaw edged out the win on Saturday Afternoon.  Jimmy didn't head back to Kansas empty handed though, as he swept Friday night's performance and took Sunday's freestyle competition.  The talk of Chicago was Creten's past-vertical wheelie contest jumps througout the weekend. You can see one for yourself on the video page.

In Cleveland, Darren Migues won by inches over Pablo Huffaker in Grave Digger on Saturday afternoon  and went on to sweep both competitions on Saturday Night!  Big congratulations to Darren, who is only his first full season of Monster Jam events.

The Streak Continues in New Orleans!
Posted  2/4/09

Monster Jam fans must not be aware of the current "economic downturn".  The Superdome was packed to the rafters for one of the most popular Monster Jam events on the tour.  Jimmy motored past the Energy Activator, Bulldozer, Grave Digger and a returning Bulldozer in the finals.  It marks his 4th consecutive racing victory on the road to Vegas!  In freestyle Creten was working towards another Double Down opportunity before he had trouble getting his big Ford slowed down and tagged the wall-protection, which ended his run prematurely.  Joe Miller put Iron Outlaw through it's paces as well, ending with a respectable 5th place finish.

Darren Migues had a short drive down to Columbia, SC for another Monster Jam event.  He had a great weekend, but was bitten repeatedly by the 'Digger Curse', and only took one racing win during Saturday night's main event.

Creten Doubles Down
Posted  2/3/09

Phoenix used to be, and still somewhat is, Jimmy Creten's home away from home.  So what a fitting place to claim his first Double Down trophy.  Named from the popular World Finals fan package, driver's can take home a special trophy anytime they win both racing and freestyle in one night where TV cameras are present.  He did just that, defeating Blue Thunder in the racing finals and edging out Grave Digger by 1 point in freestyle.   He maintains his incredible season, and still has only been beaten one time by teammate Joe Miller in Omaha.

Some 2,000 miles away, Darren Migues and Bounty Hunter II   was cleaning up in Raleigh, NC.  He appeared in all 3 final rounds, winning the Saturday night race against Allen Pezo in Predator and swept freestyle in all three performances!

It was a big weekend for all of the 2Xtreme Racing trucks and drivers!  In Wichita, Darren Migues swept all of the racing and freestyle, except Sunday afternoon which went to Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse.

6 hours to the North was Monster Jam in the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.  Same Chicago-style racing, only this time on dirt.   As you can see below, Jimmy Creten was on fire, losing only once to Rolling Thunder and teammate Joe Miller - who grabbed his first Monster Jam trophy on Sunday afternoon.

2009 Monster Jam Kicks Off
Posted 1/5/09

The season opener delivered what some Houston fans consider the best Monster Jam yet in their fine city.  And considering the quantity of events that have taken place inside the Astrodome and now Reliant Stadium that's quite a statement.   The action started off with Darren Migues rolling Iron Outlaw in his qualifying pass.  The crew almost had the truck repaired in time for racing but missed the call by just a few minutes.  Number 2 qualifier Jimmy Creten conquered  Monster Mutt, Predator and Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger  on the huge Chicago-Style track to claim his finals spot against Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction.  Running an extra lap for the main event, Creten edged out Meents by about a truck length to claim his first stadium victory of the new year.

Freestyle was intense, as the Monster Jam track builders were cut loose with an abundance of dirt on hand for next week's Supercross.  The obstacles were Vegas-sized and included a two-tiered dirt mound that could be attacked from almost any angle.  Darren in Outlaw posted a score of 18 with a solid run, and Creten was handed 21 points landing them in 6th and 9th place respectively.  George Ballhan and Damon Bradshaw pulled of some near crashes and Dennis Anderson elecrified the huge Texas crowd for the win.
